But I Understood It at Home...“Entering my 3rd period math class, I was anxious about getting my test back. I am glad that my teacher always gives them back the next day, but I am really nervous about my grade. I really feel like I studied hard for this test. My mom worked with me for over an hour the night before and I felt good about how I prepared for the test. As the teacher went around the classroom passing the tests back one by one, my anxiety seemed to increase each time another student got theirs back. I remember feeling this same way yesterday during the test. There was a section of problems that I wasn’t sure how to do and I remember being really nervous as the class period expired and I turned it in. Finally, the teacher said my name and walked back to my desk. She placed the test on my desk and said the next student’s name as I looked down. My heart sank as I saw the big bold grade on top. It was 34 out of 50.”
